Former President John Dramani Mahama has stated that he will ask the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for permission to represent the party as its presidential nominee in the 2024 general election.
On February 21, after speaking with members of the Minority Caucus in Parliament at his Accra home, he made the eagerly anticipated revelation.
Even though not all of the Lawmakers were present, according to GhanaWeb sources, the meeting’s purpose was to reassure Mahama of their support for forthcoming party elections.
According to the source, Mahama promised the legislators that he would run for flagbearer and that his candidacy would shortly be officially announced.
Since then, two Lawmakers have attested to their attendance at the aforementioned discussion.
Rashid Pelpuo, the Member for Wa Central Constituency, reaffirmed Mahama’s claim, and Clement Apaak of Builsa South posted the news.
