Justice system in Ghana has lost its values and credibility – Executive Secretary ADAM-GH

Mr. Azubila Emmanuel Abdul-Salam, Executive Secretary of Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana ADAM-GH, has expressed grave concerns about the way in which the country’s justice system is developing as well as the public’s perception of and faith in the judicial system.

He claims that Ghana, which has long been hailed as an example of democracy and has made enormous strides toward upholding democratic values in Africa, is rapidly losing its stature as a democracy and should cause serious concern for all Ghanaians.

“I think the justice system in Ghana has lost its values and credibility which is a major concern to all Ghanaians. Listening to the unfortunate comment by the President of the Republic, the State Attorney and some senior members of this government, the prejudicial comments and the belligerent actions of the supreme court, there is no undeniable fact that our justice’s system in Ghana has been soiled and are now acting as “yes men” to the president and government officials” he said in a statement copied to Ghanatodayonline.com.

He said, “Laws are meant for people, so judges must take into account the impact of politically biased judgments and subsequent public reactions.”

As a civil society organization founded on sound democratic principles, ADAM-GH has carefully considered all sides of the argument, taking into account public sentiment, traditional leaders’ and men of God’s advice, and even some High Court Judges’ perspectives on the most regrettable ruling that almost plunged this nation into anarchy.

He added that the populace must unite as a whole to oppose oppressor tyranny and restore the honor of Nkrumah’s Ghana.

He emphasized that Ghana has advanced past having such crooked judges who serve as stooges to the people who appointed them.

“As Ghanaians, it is our duty to protect the integrity of our country and all institutions and continue to see Ghana Democracy as our bragging rights” he said.

“The Judges should be impartial in handling political issues in the country.”he stated

“As a CSO we are adding our voices to many Ghanaians who are admonishing the government to drop the so-called criminal charges against Hon. Gyakye Quayson, the second time elected Member of Parliament of Assin North.”

He added that it is more criminal than the Gyakye Quayson case and that the Attorney General should pay close attention to the 2020 Auditors General report in which Judges fraudulently auction off 2 and 3 year old Toyota Land Cruisers to themselves.

Mr. Azubila lamented the fact that judges who are meant to aid in the battle against corruption are now indulging in unethical behavior, looting the country in broad daylight, and turn out to be interested in an average candidate.

To avoid further embarrassing the nation, he pleaded with the state attorney to kindly dismiss Hon. Gyakye Quayson’s lawsuit.

OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM IS BECOMING A CURSE TO SOCIETY THAN A BLESSING-ADAM-GH FIRED.

Executive Secretary of Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana ADAM-GH, Mr Azubila Emmanuel Abdul-Salam has expressed worry over the trend in which our justice system is going in the country and the public perception. Ghana which has been touted as a beacon of democracy over the years and achieved a monumental achievement in democratic principles in Africa is gradually losing its credibility and bragging rights which must be a major concern to all Ghanaians. When I sit down and look at the way and manner  families  mourn their departed souls during campaign in Assin North, the manner in which people suffered various degree of injuries, money that the country lost in conducting the Assin North by-election coupled with the harsh economic conditions our people are going through, unnecessary political tension created and time wasted for this needles and political verdict from our supreme court, one may not be far from right to say that the Justices system currently in Ghana is a curse to Ghanaians than good. Laws are meant for people and therefore, Judges must consider the effect of such political judgments and public reactions.

ADAM-GH as a civil society organization that anchors on proper democratic principles has taken sober reflection of the whole issue, considering the public opinion, advice of traditional leaders and men of God and even some opinion of High Court Judges about the most unfortunate judgment that nearly threw this country into darkness. I think the justice system in Ghana has lost its values and credibility which is a major concern to all Ghanaians. Listening to the unfortunate comment by the President of the Republic, the State Attorney and some senior members of this government, the prejudicial comments and the belligerent actions of the supreme court, there is no undeniable fact that our justice’s system in Ghana has been soiled and are now acting as “yes men” to the president and government officials.

As Ghanaians, it is our duty to protect the integrity of our country and all institutions and continue to see Ghana Democracy as our bragging rights. We must rise up as a nation to resist the oppressors’ rule and restore the dignity of our country.

Ghana has grown beyond having such a porous justice system who are stooge to their appointing authority.  The Judges should be impartial in handling political issues in the country.

As a CSO we are adding our voice to many Ghanaians who are advising the government to drop the so-called criminal charges agains Hon. GYAKYE QUAYSON, the second time elected Member of Parliament of Assin North. The Attorney General should take key interest in the 2020 Auditors General report where Judges fraudulently auction 2 years old and 3 years old Toyota Land cruisers to themselves. This is more criminal than the needles Hon.GYAKYE QUAYSON case.  Judges that are supposed to help fight corruption cannot engage in corrupt practices robbing the nation in broad daylight and turn out to be showing interest in a mediocre.

Drop Hon GYAKYE QUAYSON case to save the country from further embarrassment.
