Voting for National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming December elections could have negative consequences, according to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The nation’s progress toward development may be impeded if Mahama is elected, according to worries expressed by NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong.

Kodua Frimpong emphasized the NPP’s proven track record in an interview with Citi News, making clear how crucial it is to keep the party’s leadership in place for future expansion.

Drawing a comparison between the limited tenure of a potential Mahama presidency, he highlighted the benefit of assessing a leader’s performance over a longer time frame.

In order to empower voters to make educated judgments based on significant distinctions between the candidates, Kodua Frimpong underlined the significance of a public discourse and debate between the different party flagbearers to educate Ghanaians about their policies and ideals.

“You have one person who has the chance to be president for eight years, who can come to you again for four years for you to evaluate what he has done, and one person who has nothing to lose. After four years, whether he performs or does not perform, he is going. So it is a choice that Ghanaians will have to make.

“That’s the message that we are driving home. When it comes to in terms of policies and ideas, we are waiting for the time that there will be that public discussion or debate between our flagbearer and the flagbearer of the opposition party and then we will be able to know the real and clear difference between the two of them.”
