Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized several members of parliament for publicly endorsing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia prior to the party’s presidential primary.
More than 200 former MMDCEs (Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives) were also decried by Frimpong for supporting Kennedy Agyapong.
Mr. Justin Koduah claims that these actions can have a detrimental effect on the party’s agreements and sow division before the 2028 elections.
Speaking on the “Dwabrem” program of OTEC 102.9 FM in Kumasi, Frimpong asked all party members to follow the law.
Mr. Justin Koduah issued a warning, saying that anyone who discredits the party would face consequences.
He underlined the party’s determination to implement reasonable policies in order to secure victory in the 2028 elections.
The party’s National Executive Council has announced that the presidential primaries will be held on January 31, 2026.
Mr Justin Koduah ‘s comments come as the party prepares for a crucial period in its electoral process.
The NPP’s leadership is expected to provide further guidelines on the primaries, including nomination procedures and campaign timelines, in the coming weeks.
Mr Justin Koduah ‘s call for party members to adhere to the rules has been seen as a bid to maintain unity and cohesion within the party.
