Kofi Adams, the Minister-designate for Youth and Sports and Member of Parliament for Buem, has stated his steadfast dedication to revitalizing Ghana’s sports industry.
Speaking during a Wednesday interview on GHOne TV’s Hard Talk. He outlined his vision for the future of sports in Ghana and considered the principles of leadership and accountability using a potent analogy.
Adams accepted the duty of bringing back Ghana’s sporting pride in his capacity as Sports Minister designate. “It’s like growing cassava on a soil that once thrived. No matter the changes, with the right corrections, the soil can yield even better results. Ghana has done well in football, boxing, athletics, basketball, and more. The talent is still here—we just need to lead right.”
Adams cited Ghana’s prior sporting accomplishments as proof of the nation’s enormous potential. “We need to rally everyone around, be positive, and create an environment where sports can thrive,” he said, restating his opinion that promoting unity and teamwork is the key to unlocking this potential.
Adams underlined that sports are essential for bringing the country together and providing opportunity for young people.
“Sports create discipline, bring pride to the nation, and offer free time for growth and engagement. If we channel this potential correctly, the benefits will be transformative.”
