On Saturday, May 20, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and other NPP members descended on Kumawu for the funeral ceremonies of the late Philip Basoah, an MP for the Kumawu seat.
On Saturday, Kumawu held the funeral service for the late MP who passed away on March 27.
Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the NPP attended his funeral ceremonies.
Other luminaries spotted at the funeral grounds included Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a failed NDC presidential candidate; Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the chief of staff; Samira Bawumia, the second lady; and Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the chairman of the NPP’s Ashanti region, also known as Chairman “Wontumi.”
Others are NDC parliamentary candidate Kwasi Amankwaa, also known as “Tom Cee,” NPP National Chairman Stephen Ntim, Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Stephen Asamoah Boateng, NPP candidate for Kumawu, Ernest Yaw Ntim, NPP National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, and NPP Kumawu candidate Ernest Yaw Ntim.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude for the late MP’s services on behalf of the NPP, his constituents, and Ghana as a whole.
Philip Basoah, my brother, friend, and fellow patriot, farewell. Ghana, the Kumawu Constituency, and the NPP are all appreciative of your assistance. On his Facebook page, the vice president posted, “Rest in peace.
