“Let us learn from our mistakes and vote wisely. I’m aware of what every Ghanaian is going through. The hardship is unbearable,” Mr John Mahama spoke in Twi.

National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has discussed the status of the Ghanaian economy and emphasized the need of voters casting ballots for change in 2024.

On Sunday, November 19, 2023, the former president spoke to members of the Apostolic Continuation Church at Techiman while on his “Building Ghana Tour” through the Bono East Region.

He acknowledged that many people were suffering from unimaginable misery, but he insisted that in order to alter the course of the economy beyond 2024, voters must choose a leader.

“We all remember that some time back, some people came to us with lofty promises. Mostly, all these promises are for the votes of electorates. Not all that glitters is gold,” he said.

He stated that people can bring about change through the electoral process, but he also recognized that God has the last say in who should lead and who he will designate.

“God will choose for us a leader who will deliver the country and set us on a path of prosperity,” he stated.

Mahama will face Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia in the pivotal 2024 elections. Bawumia was just chosen as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer.
