Liberia’s IGP praises Ghana’s IGP Dampare

At the National Police Headquarters in Accra on Monday, July 29, 2024, members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) and Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of the Liberia National Police, received a courtesy call from Gregory O. W. Coleman, the IGP of the officer corps.

With an emphasis on security, peace, and law enforcement, the visit sought to improve bilateral cooperation between the two West African governments’ police institutions.

 

The GH Police TV studios and the recently opened Ghana Police Shop were visited by IGP Gregory O. W. Coleman and his entourage.

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has led the Ghana Police Service through a transition that has been praised by Inspector General (IG) of the Liberian National Police, IGP. Hon. Gregory O. W. Coleman, who has described Dampare as an inspiration to his colleagues on the continent.

He claims that since he took on the position, the Ghanaian IGP’s leadership qualities have served as an example for him and other African leaders in similar roles.

“Your leadership inspires me and many others on the continent. You’ve shown that one person can indeed make a difference despite the challenges they are confronted with. I’m proud to have you as a mentor and hope that we can impact society as much as you have done,” During a visit to Dr. Dampare on Monday at the Police headquarters in Accra, he paid him homage.

Along with thanking everyone for their hospitality, IGP Gregory also praised IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and his staff for their achievements in establishing the Service as a model for other services in Africa and beyond.

He mentioned that the Ghana Police Service has established a solid name for itself, therefore he is happy to invite the team and pick their brains as the Liberia National Police also sets out to revolutionize its own law enforcement agency.

IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare cordially greeted the visiting team and emphasized the value of exchanging best practices in policing while reiterating his commitment to fostering cooperation and coordination among the law enforcement authorities in the area.
