A fresh list of nominations for District Chief Executive (DCE) positions has been made public by Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs.
The Minister said in a statement that the action complies with the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) and the 1992 Constitution.
He went on to reveal that the district assemblies must approve the nominations.
In order to improve local administration and fill important leadership positions throughout the nation, the list comprises candidates from a number of regions, including the Bono East, Bono, Upper West, Western, Central, Upper East, Northern, and Ashanti regions.
Once their district assemblies have approved them, the nominees will formally take office.
Notably, Richard Ofori Boadi has been proposed for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s (KMA) post of Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE). The government’s larger plan to guarantee effective local governance at the municipal level includes his nomination.
