Abraham Amaliba has been named the National Road Safety Authority’s Acting Director-General by President John Dramani Mahama.
Currently, Mr. Amaliba serves as the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Director of Conflict Resolution.
In line with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 13(2) of the National Road Safety Authority Act, 2019 (Act 993), he was appointed with effect from January 23, 2025, pending the Public Services Commission’s consultation and the Constitution’s mandated advice from the Authority’s governing Board.
Amaliba has received official notice of his appointment and has been given 14 days to confirm his acceptance.
The President congratulated Mr. Amaliba on his new position and sent him his best wishes.
This nomination is regarded as a critical step in guaranteeing the National Road Safety Authority’s efficient administration and ongoing emphasis on traffic safety.
The Vice President, the Chief of Staff, the Minister of Transportation, the Chairman of the National Road Safety Authority Board, and the Chairperson of the Public Services Commission have all been informed of the statement.
