Mahama cuts sod for the construction of a 500-seater modern sports facility at Bole-Bamboi

John Dramani Mahama, the former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has cut sod on the building of a 500-seat contemporary sports complex for the people of Bole-Bamboi, a town in northern Ghana.

On Sunday, September 21, 2024, former President John Mahama said during a colorful sod-cutting that his administration is dedicated to providing infrastructure to all Ghanaians. As a result, he said, voting for the NDC on December 7, 2024, will be necessary when the country goes to the polls.

Early on Tuesday, September 24, Mahama made the announcement on his official account: “I cut the sod for the construction of a 500-seater modern sports facility for the youth and people of my home constituency, Bole-Bamboi, and its surrounding communities on Sunday.”

Alhaji Yusif Suleman, the Bole member of parliament, made arrangements for the facility.

The yet-to-be-built multipurpose sports complex will have a tennis and volleyball court, a swimming pool, and a football field with locker rooms.

Mr. Mahama claims that when the facility is finished, it will undoubtedly be a great way to give young people a way to hone their athletic abilities and talents, maintain their health, and create entertainment options with the many sports and activities in the complex.

“The town’s skilled and unskilled youth will also have job opportunities thanks to the construction work,” he stated.

Mr. Mahama highlighted that, the NDC is steadfast in its commitment to inclusive growth via investments in health, education, and sports.

Mr. Mahama emphasized, “Our sports development programs will focus on talent development and feed our human development agenda.”
