President John Mahama has demonstrated his administration’s dedication to transparency and accountability by turning over two cars that were given to him to the state’s pool.

The declaration was made on Monday, May 5, in keeping with his recently released code of behavior for government appointees.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the government spokesperson, formally introduced the cars to Chief of Staff Julius Debrah.

According to Mr. Ofosu, on receiving such gestures, “officials are required to hand them over to the state.”

This action comes after President Mahama promised to run an honorable and dignified government and to hold all officials to high ethical standards.

The president emphasized a zero-tolerance approach on corruption, conceit, and abuse of office during his remarks at the appointees’ code of conduct launch earlier today.

The rules are intended to control public servant behavior, encourage civil interaction with the public, and stop unethical behavior.

In an effort to rebuild public confidence in government, President Mahama issued a warning that noncompliance will result in harsh penalties, including termination.

According to a government official, the administration’s recent decision to donate the gifted cars shows that it is committed to setting an example.
