Thirteen (13) deputy ministers have been nominated by President John Dramani Mahama to hold important government positions, subject to parliamentary approval.
Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the Ghanaian Constitution, which require prior legislative permission for ministerial nominations, are in line with this action.
Nominees for important fields like infrastructure, energy, defense, justice, education, and finance are on the list.
Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi assumes the post to assist the Ministry of the Interior, while Thomas Nyarko Ampem assumes the role of Deputy Minister for Finance.
Clement Abas Apaak has been nominated for the Ministry of Education, while Ernest Brogya Gyenfi will serve as the deputy for the Ministry of Defense.
Richard Gyan-Mensah assumes the role of Deputy Minister for Energy & Green Transition in the energy sector. Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini assumes the position of Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways in the interim.
Justice Srem-Sai has also been nominated to work in the Attorney General’s and Justice Ministry.
Additionally, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah has been nominated as the Minister of Local Government, Yusif Sulemana will join the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources as Deputy Minister, and Gizella Tettey-Agbotui will take over as the Minister of Works, Housing, and Water Resources.
