Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, also known as Opambuor or Prophet One, is a well-known preacher in Kumasi. He met with former president John Dramani Mahama at his church in Ahenema Kokoben, Ashanti Region.
Prior to Day One of Mahama’s three-day tour of the ruling party’s stronghold, a meeting was held on January 24, 2024.
Following his departure from the church, Mahama marched across main streets with a few prominent members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the banner of the 24-hour economy rally. At the end of the march, he spoke to the throngs of supporters.
Dressed in all white, Mahama gave a brief explanation of his visit to the church before giving Opambuor a mandate to keep praying for the nation before the 2024 election.
“We are starting today in the Ashanti Region. If by God’s grace we get power, the Bible teaches us that as a leader, you are a servant to your people and are in service to them.
“To do this, you have to know what you want to do for the people. It also means that we all have the same ideas about how to develop the nation, so we are taking note of the main points of view of everyone we meet and incorporating them into our plans,” he said.
We are here to encourage you to keep praying until God makes a way for us and grants us victory in the elections. We are aware that you have been praying for us. Let’s hold this election peacefully; it is imperative that we do so because eight candidates lost in 2020. In 2024, not a single drop of blood needs to be shed,” he said.
