In the Asante Mampong Constituency, police have arrested a National Democratic Congress branch youth organizer’s wife on suspicion of fatally stabbing him.
After his partner reportedly stabbed him after a furious argument, Osei Akoto, a teacher in his 40s, passed away from his wounds when he arrived at the hospital.
The sad event shocked the residents of the couple’s Asante Mampong neighborhood, Kofi Sarpong, where they lived.
The deceased and his spouse, who went by simply Abigail, were known to have regular arguments, according to neighbors. On Thursday night, a similar fight resulted in the deadly stabbing.
The suspect, Abigail, is being held by the police to help with the investigation, and the murder scene is being thoroughly examined by the authorities.
The NDC’s representative for the Asante Mampong Constituency, Hudu Mumuni Yahaya, acknowledged the occurrence, offered condolences, and recognized the deceased’s contributions to the party’s local operations.
The dead has been moved to the morgue for preservation and autopsy; he leaves behind three children.
