Man allegedly poisons himself to death over pregnancy

It has been reported that an Ivorian man, 37, poisoned himself after learning of his girlfriend’s pregnancy. His remains were discovered outside a gas station in Kasoa Krispocity, Awutu Senya East Municipality, according to reports.

Over the weekend, a deceased person was spotted walking around the area, but locals failed to help him, according to media reports. Residents were able to call his girlfriend using one of the stored numbers on the cell phone they discovered next to his body. He stayed in the Volta Region and was her lover, the girlfriend said, but he had run away after she revealed she was pregnant.

According to sources, the deceased may have faced legal action from the girlfriend’s father, who is notoriously strict, after finding out about the pregnancy. After the news, the dead reportedly flew to Kasoa from the Volta Region, where he may have poisoned himself to avoid the girlfriend’s family’s reaction.

Witnesses have accused the police of failing to respond to their calls after spotting the man unconscious in a nearby bush. For preservation and an autopsy, the body has been taken to the police hospital.
