Suspected armed robbers in Ashaiman, in the Greater Accra Region, fatally stabbed an unidentified man to death at dawn on Thursday, February 15, 2024.

His clothes were covered in blood and he was discovered dead from stab wounds.

Around 4:30 am on Thursday, the incident happened close to the Goodness filling station at Ashaiman Main Trotro Station.

The victim was reportedly approached by the criminal gangs while carrying a phone and a bag containing cash.

Yaw Kwakye, a trader at the Ashaiman Main Train Station, told media that the victim was attacked by a few criminal gangs who demanded the bag and other personal belongings, but he resisted. He (the victim) was allegedly stabbed in the stomach during the ensuing struggle.

Several of the locals are terrified as a result of the man’s death and the subsequent rumors that the victim was a military member.

The fear stems from a comparable event that occurred in the Municipality on March 7, 2023, when some soldiers invaded Ashaiman following the death of their colleague, Private Imoro Sherrif, in Ashaiman Zongo Laka on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

When contacted, the Ashaiman Police declined to comment.
