Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the recently appointed Minority Leader, has issued a warning that the Minority would oppose any move by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to increase the number of his appointments.

At his first news conference after being appointed by the NDC leadership, Mr. Forson, a member of parliament for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) representing the Ajuamko Enyam Essiam Constituency in the Central Region, gave this warning.

He claimed that the President will be under pressure the next month to reduce the size of his administration in order to reflect the current state of the nation.

“So, therefore, if the president intends to reshuffle his ministers, let us in the NDC let him know that we will not accept any increase in the size of government,” he stressed.

“If the current ministers increase by [even] one, we will not accept it,” he warned.
He mentioned that the Minority will do a number of roadshows to inform Ghanaians of the economic problems.

He promised to open a hearing on the Covid-19 finances audit.
