Mohammed Kudus, a midfielder for Ghana, has been a target of Barcelona’s sporting director, Jordi Cruyff, for more than a year.
The Ajax attacker is apparently being pursued by a number of elite Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Barcelona.
“We’ve been tracking Mohammed Kudus for more than one year. We can’t say now that Barça want Kudus… but he’s attracting interest,” Jordi spoke to RAC 1 in Spain.
This season, the 22-year-old has played more as a false nine for Ajax than his usual position as number 10.
Cruyff continues by saying he has been keeping up with debates in the Netherlands about the position the Right to Dream Academy alumnus ought to play.
“He’s scoring goals and in Holland, they discuss a lot about his position, so yes – I know him well,” he stated.
Kudus has been on fire for the Dutch giants since being used as a false nine, scoring 10 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions, after initially finding it difficult to get into the game.
With a spectacular performance against Portugal and a historic brace against South Korea, he is also shining in the 2022 World Cup. He will play against Uruguay on Friday.
If Ghana is to defeat the South Americans and advance to the round of 16 in the 2022 World Cup, Mohammed Kudus will be key.
