The Member of Parliament (MP) for Offinso South Constituency, Hon Isaac Yaw Opoku, has appealed to the government to fix deplorable roads within the Offinso Municipality.

In an interview with Nana Kwaku Boffah, the MP commended the government for some developmental projects in the Constituency such as Namon Senior High School and two other senior high schools which have received massive infrastructural development under this current government.

“But one thing that has become a major problem to my constituents, which we have not benefited from this government is road network.  Something that my constituents have been using against me is the poor road network in the area. They complained I am not able to lobby but before man and God, I have been to every corner. Sometimes I even go down on my knees before the road minister, chasing him in every corner and writing letters but yet still, it has yielded no results. Honestly, Offinso is facing serious challenges with poor roads network,” he said.

The MP stated roads like, Offinso Old Town to Ayensua, Twumasen, Obuasi through Kokoti up to Dentin, Amoahwen, Namon, to Ampapame, where the MP residency is situated, are all in deplorable state.

His plea follows complaints from people of the constituency that most of their roads are deplorable.

“So we are begging the president, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, to come to our aid and fix some of our roads for us. The roads are not many. We know the financial situation, now we are appealing to them to fix our roads in order to transport cocoa and other foodstuffs to the urban cities,” Hon Isaac Yaw Opoku pleaded.
