With effect from June 30, 2024, MTN Ghana would like to notify its valued customers and trading partners that its scratch cards, which were last offered for sale in 2020, will be completely phased out.

Customers can redeem the value of their MTN scratch cards by credit transfer (EVD) at any MTN Customer Experience Center. However, customers who still have unused scratch cards after July 1, 2024, will not be able to recharge them.

This is also consistent with the Government of Ghana’s digitalization ambition and MTN’s strategy to lead digital solutions in Ghana and beyond.

Customers of MTN are urged to keep recharging via the current digital channels, such as the MoMo, Ayoba, and myMTN app. As part of our dedication to maintaining a clean environment, consumers receive a 50% bonus on every Mobile Money recharge.

Chief Sales and Distribution Officer Mr. Samuel Addo made the following statement in response to the removal of scratch cards “the phasing out of the scratch cards is one of the avenues to help us protect the environment, empower customers to drive digital usage and make customer service delivery more efficient”.

MTN continues to carry out a number of projects to lessen its environmental impact in accordance with its sustainability policy, including waste reduction efforts, water conservation measures, and other energy-saving measures.
