MTN, Africa’s top telecommunications provider, is excited to announce its upcoming SME hybrid event, which aims to promote growth and give small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) on the continent access to crucial resources. The two-day gathering will bring together business leaders, inspiring speakers, and innovative strategies to boost the growth of African firms. It will include both physical and online components.

This ground-breaking event, which is slated to take place at the company’s 14th Avenue Innovation Centre from May 23 to 24, 2023, will give SMEs a platform to network, learn, and present their goods and services to a wider audience. Live displays of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and partner solutions will be shown at the event, along with entertaining activities like the much anticipated JumpStarter funding competition and inspiring keynote addresses from important industry luminaries.

MTN is committed to enabling SMEs by giving them the tools, resources, and assistance they need to succeed in a competitive marketplace.  With this event, MTN hopes to establish itself as the premier company that provides a wide range of services and specialized development initiatives to help over 40 million African SMEs grow and flourish.

The live exposition, where chosen SMEs will have the chance to present their innovative products and services to potential customers, potential investors, and partners, will be one of the event’s highlights. They will be able to grow their networks, become more visible, and draw in more commercial chances thanks to this platform.

MTN’s commitment to supporting SMEs extends beyond the event itself. The company’s suite of services, including MoMo (Mobile Money), Digital, Ayoba, and Chenosis, will be showcased during the event, demonstrating how these platforms can empower SMEs with convenient and secure financial transactions, digital marketing solutions, communication tools, and access to a broader customer base.

“MTN understands the critical role SMEs play in driving economic growth and job creation across Africa,” said Tumi Chamayou, MTN Group Executive: Enterprise. “We are proud to host this empowering event that brings together the brightest minds and resources to support the success of SMEs. Our goal is to position MTN as the go-to brand for African entrepreneurs seeking to thrive in today’s digital economy.”

According to MTN’s 2022 Sustainability Report, its entrepreneurial skills development initiative assisted 1,250 small and medium-sized businesses. The company’s constant dedication to developing African SMEs and fostering their success is further demonstrated through this SME event. MTN wants to give SMEs the resources and assistance they need to succeed in the competitive business environment of today by offering a platform for innovation, collaboration, and information sharing.
