Muntaka Mubarak, the current Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase and the outgoing minority chief whip, has stated his desire to keep the seat for the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Today, April 5, 2023, the Asawase representative came before the party’s vetting committee with a sizable group of supporters by his side.
The legislator claims that his ultimate goal is to keep his seat in Asawase and turn his district into the envy of the nation.
After being interviewed by media, the congressman expressed his gratitude to the constituents for their support.
“How many people do you get to support you the way I have been supported? You don’t have people continue to support you after two decades of being a member of Parliament.
“For you to get people to continue supporting you for two decades it means you’re doing something right,” the lawmaker noted. “I only thank Allah.”
He said it takes time and effort to change a constituency into one that everyone wants to see.
“I know that it’s a process of attempting to reconstruct Asawase to make Asawase the envy of the entire country,” the legislator said. We’re moving forward.
Everyone will acknowledge the truth. We want Asawase to be the envy of the entire nation because it is already the envy of the Ashanti area. So, it is something that takes a lot of effort and patience.
That takes a lot of understanding, but over time, not many people are patient, and people come to you at different times.
He consequently believed that on May 13 he would easily win the party’s nomination to run for office once more in 2024.
