Ghanaian artist and businesswoman Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah popularly known as Mzbel has voiced her frustration regarding what she calls abandonment by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), even after her significant involvement in the party’s last campaign period.
During an interview on Kay Amofa TV, Mzbel disclosed that she set aside her personal responsibilities and business to entirely back the NDC’s countrywide campaign.
She asserts that once the party gained power, no one took the time to recognize her contributions or provide any assistance. Mzbel shared that she has sent many application letters to political party offices and governmental bodies, wishing her restaurant would be chosen for catering contracts, particularly to provide meals for ministerial organizations.
She states that none of those letters have gotten a reply.
She stated that she anticipated receiving at least some acknowledgment or chance after investing her time and resources into the party’s success.
Her comments have ignited fresh discussions regarding the way political parties engage with celebrities who endorse them during election campaigns, especially when expectations fall short post-elections.
