Prior to the rainy season, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has warned the public about potential flooding.

The NADMO declared that it is on high alert because it expects further flooding to affect the nation’s biggest cities.

This comes after weather alerts related to the Ghana Meteorological Agency’s 2023 forecast.

According to NADMO, the floods are expected to occur once the rainy season begins between April and June. They could make certain roads impassable to vehicles and harm nearby structures.

The group is advising the general people to avoid unstable structures and to shift to safer areas during the season.

In a press conference held today, Friday, March 24, 2023, Ga East Municipal NADMO Director Seth Kofi Osei Kissi asked residents in flood-prone districts to leave their unsafe homes in order to save the loss of life and property.
