Renowned Ghanaian actress and TV presenter Nana Ama McBrown has verified her divorce from her spouse, Maxwell Mensah, stating that the choice was made mutually and without hostility.
The celebrated performer revealed that the split was a mutual decision made when both sides realized they could no longer sustain the marriage.
In an interview with TV3, she stated that the divorce has not impacted the friendly relationship she maintains with her ex-husband and his family, emphasizing that they still get along well and keep in touch frequently.
Nana Ama McBrown stated that the marriage, established under customary law, was ended with the participation of both families, as was necessary.
She shared that although her ex-husband and in-laws wanted her to remain in the marriage, she felt mentally drained and decided to let go.
She portrayed Maxwell Mensah as a decent individual and emphasized that the separation was not marked by animosity, noting that they managed the process in a mature and calm manner.
The actress emphasized that her greatest happiness from the marriage is their daughter, Maxine, whom she called an invaluable treasure.
She expressed that although she is receptive to the idea of having additional children, she does not plan to remarrying.
McBrown also contemplated the durability of celebrity unions, encouraging the public to recognize and value couples in the entertainment sector who successfully remain married for extended periods.
Her confirmation comes after months of public speculation and rumors indicating difficulties in the marriage, including claims of alleged infidelity that had emerged before her announcement.
Twelve years ago, Nana Ama McBrown and Maxwell Mensah got married and have one daughter.
