On March 19, 2025, 20 armed men are said to have raided the home of former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Ernest Addison under the leadership of Richard Jakpa, Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat.
The raid occurred at Dr. Addison’s home in Accra’s Roman Ridge on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, according to a news report by AsaaseOnline.com.
Dr. Addison was reportedly home when the heavily armed guys, some of whom were balaclava-wearing and carrying AK-47 semi-automatic weapons, came to search him.
The team repeatedly turned off all of the house’s CCTV cameras, according to the report.
Dr. Addison was then ordered to show them the “vaults” in his home. According to AsaaseOnline.com, the former governor calmly informed them that he had no vaults or other cash stockpile at home while in shock.
Based on reports, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader of Parliament, paid the former governor of the BoG a visit at his home following the raid.
