Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former finance minister and prominent party member, has received praise from the National Democratic Congress’ Central Region executives for having conceived of and sponsored the AHOTOR business initiative, which aims to strengthen and financially empower the party’s grassroots as part of the main opposition party’s reorganization efforts.

This occurred last week when the AHOTOR business collection was presented to six (6) constituencies in the Central Region.

For a total of GHS 30,000.00, each of the recipient constituencies received four sets of canopies, 100 plastic seats, and an entire public address system unit.

First in the Central Region to get the AHOTOR business collection of items are the constituencies of Assin North, Assin Central, Assin South, Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, Awutu-Senya East, and Gomoa East.

From this point on, each of the beneficiary constituencies will make money by renting out the goods for social events like funerals, outdoor weddings, political rallies, and other such gatherings, and will utilize this money to support NDC party activities at the local level.

During the presenting event, Isaac Boadu, the branch communications officer for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, showed enthusiasm for the AHOTOR project.

“These items will help the party at our constituency level. We are happy that Dr. Kwabena Duffuor is thinking about us at the grassroots level.’’ He continued, ‘’Whenever we want to organize party events, we usually worry about how to get money to rent a public address system but now we don’t have to worry about it.”

Lamin Aziz Wuru, aka Mama G, an NDC Women’s Organizer in the Gomoa East Constituency, expressed her happiness over the project since it will improve the social life of party supporters at the local level.

“These days, we frequently postpone social occasions like weddings or outdoor gatherings because renting a PA system for them is too expensive, but today, with the AHOTOR sound system, chairs, and canopies, we the party guests may hire at reduced pricing…

Therefore, this is quite reassuring; may God bless Dr. Kwabena Duffuor.

Executives from constituency parties urged other party leaders to follow Dr. Kwabena Duffuor’s benevolent example.

“We have heard of the NDC AHOTOR project for a very long time but today, we received our share’’, said Rasta, a Deputy Youth Organizer of the Awutu Senya East Constituency. He added, “If all the party leaders can think about the party and help like Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, our party will move forward.”

Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former governor of the Bank of Ghana and member of the NDC, has frequently informed the party’s grassroots that he has many more projects in the works that will strengthen the NDC and enable it to unseat the NPP in 2024.

For the next battle in 2024, the party’s grassroots needs to be financially and logistically resourced.

The AHOTOR project is focused on achieving this.

He has stated that this is just the beginning of many initiatives we will carry out for the benefit of the NDC’s grassroots.

According to the NDC AHOTOR business project secretariat, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor would make sure the initiative reaches all 275 constituencies nationwide.

The top NDC financier recently declared that no amount of criticism or abuse from anti-AHOTOR campaigners will deter him from supporting the NDC party grassroots with his AHOTOR business project as the party reorganizes in preparation for the upcoming general elections. The leading NDC financier is widely expected to challenge former President John Mahama in the leadership race for the NDC’s 2024 presidential candidate.
