NDC suspends Northern Regional Director of Elections

Alhaji Animu Mohammed Adams has been removed from his role as the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Northern Region Director of Elections. The NDC is the main opposition party.

The party said in a letter dated June 19, 2024, and signed by General Secretary Mr. Fifi Kwetey, that Mr. Animu Mohammed Adams should resign in order to make room for a fresh appointment, per the recommendation of the Conflict and Dispute Resolution Committee.

According to the statement, the Functional Executive Committee held a lengthy meeting on April 23, 2023, whereby they deliberated over the issue and approved the appointment of Mr. Arnold Mashud as the new Director of Elections for the area.
