Dr. Clement Apaak, the Builsa South Member of Parliament(MP), has stated that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) would not be prevented from talking about the contentious “Agyapadie” document.

Dr. Apaak disclosed to Ghanatodayonline.com that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has made an effort to stifle discussion of the paper, claiming that it will negatively affect their campaign.

Dr. Apaak claims that the NPP intends to file a lawsuit to prevent the document’s distribution and media coverage, as well as to falsely accuse NDC members of writing and releasing it.

“No one can use state institutions, police, or courts to gag us from discussing the Agyapadie document and its contents. We’ll continue exposing the evidence confirming its implementation,” Dr. Clement Apaak promised.

The Builsa South MP stated, “We won’t be intimidated or gagged,” underscoring that the authors of the document are neither NDC members nor employees.

A contentious book called the Agyapadie book has been making the rounds in Ghana, causing disagreements and anxiety among different factions.

The text purports to include a plan for the Akyem people to take control of Ghana’s politics, economy, and social institutions. It includes plans for Akyems to take over important industries including manufacturing, commerce, and banking.

Although the book’s history is uncertain, it is thought to have been written by unidentified people or organizations.

The NPP and the DMB campaign at a meeting on the Agyapadie document concluded that its continuous discussion is detrimental to their campaign. Consequently, they decided to do the following;

  1. Falsely accuse functionaries and members of the NDC of authoring and publishing it;
  2. Going to court to get an injunction placed on the document, its circulation and discussion in the media.

Many may have become aware that a member of the NPP communication directorate has filed a petition with the IGP to investigate some functionaries and members of the NDC. Watch out for phase two, which is court action.

Let me state forcefully that no one can use any institution of state, police or the courts to gag us from discussing the Agyapadie document and its contents.

We will continue talking about the Agyapadie blueprint and will not relent in pointing out the evidence confirming its implementation.

The authors of the Agyapadie document know themselves, and they are certainly not members of the NDC nor its functionaries.

We will not be gaged nor intimidated.

Dr. Clement Apaak

MP/PC, Builsa South
