The New Patriotic Party (NPP) would have lost power if elections were held today but can can hold on to it if they make amends, a Founding member of the party Dr. Richard Amoako Baah has said.
According to the former KNUST political Science lecturer, the NPP in government has not performed so well to the satisfaction of most and therefore has weakened their base. He believes NPP would lose power if elections were held now.
Analyzing on the performance of the party’s past executives, Dr. Amoako Baah told host of Otec FM’s morning show host Captain Koda that there were certain decisions the past took which has triggered anger amongst some party folks and that can affect the party if elections were today.
However, Dr. Baah suggests the newly elected national executives must take it up upon themselves to make amends and to fill up the gaps if they want to succeed.
He stated that the ‘breaking the 8’ mantra should not be taken for granted as it’s a hard task and therefore needs all hands on the deck.
Dr. Amoako Baah however charges the new leadership to begin a national unity program to address aggrieved members concern and bring them together to achieve their goal.
