In order to run for parliament in the Fomena seat in the 2024 elections, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formally endorsed Andrew Amoako Asiamah, the second deputy speaker of parliament.

At the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, the support was accepted by a unanimous vote.

When he made the announcement, NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, complimented Asiamah for his steadfast devotion to the party in spite of his role as an independent member of parliament for Fomena.

He shared confidence in the party’s ability to regain the Fomena seat with Asiamah as their candidate, pointing out that the party had profited much from his work in Parliament.

The commitment and loyalty that Asiamah has demonstrated, according to Chairman Wontumi, have significantly improved the party’s standing in Parliament.

On behalf of the NPP, he conveyed his appreciation and underlined that Asiamah’s comeback to the party portends success for the party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as well as the Fomena constituency.

Asiamah replied, expressing how much he had missed being a member of the NPP, a group he is very passionate about.

In order to help the NPP win a landslide electoral victory in Fomena, he reiterated his commitment to working closely with the party.

In order to further the interests of the NPP, Mr. Asiamah urged the party’s leaders and members in Fomena to set aside their differences and work together.

In order to strengthen their position in the election, he called on all parties involved, especially Assembly members, to support the party’s ongoing initiatives in the area.

In order to get more support and ensure a historic victory for the NPP and Dr. Bawumia in the 2024 elections, Asiamah stressed the need of highlighting the developmental initiatives in the constituency.
