Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, has emphasized the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) outstanding showing in the general elections of 2024.
Dr. Ato Forson characterized the December elections as a revolution against the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) bad leadership when he spoke at the inauguration of Parliament on December 16.
He emphasized that the outcome of the 2024 election was a direct reaction to an administration that frequently brushed aside dissenting opinions as “detractors, cynics, naysayers, Sanbalat, and Tobias.”
“Mr Speaker, what happened at the polls on December 7 was a revolution, the people’s revolution! It was a revolt against a government that was obstinate, insensitive, high-handed and dismissive of public opinion.
“It was a revolt against a government that called people with dissenting views names such as detractors, cynics, naysayers, Sanbalat and Tobias”
The NPP has been punished, according to the minority leader, for its bad leadership, economic mismanagement, obstinacy, avarice, state capture, corruption, and conceit.
“Ghanaians have clearly shown that they cannot be taken for granted and that when it matters the most, they will either reward those in government or punish them for their sins.
“Mr Speaker, it is obvious that the NPP has been punished for its poor governance, economic mismanagement, obstinacy, greed, state capture, corruption, arrogance of power, impunity, disrespect, lawlessness and persecution of its political opponents.”
He expressed his appreciation to the Ghanaian people for their strong election-related support of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He also wished luck in their future endeavors to the members of Parliament who were not re-elected.
