The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will field 28 members of parliament in the upcoming parliamentary primaries, all of whom are running unopposed for re-election. It’s quite the political spectacle that looks like it came from a screenplay.
These unopposed members of parliament, who range in experience from seasoned veterans to up-and-coming figures, have found themselves in a peculiar situation as the political drumbeat builds toward the January 27, 2024, primaries.
