The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will convene a peace agreement meeting on Thursday, January 22, 2026, to promote a seamless and non-violent presidential primary set for January 31, 2026.
The meeting, arranged by the NPP Presidential Elections Committee, is set for 11:00 a.m. in the Asante Hall of the Alisa Hotel and will assemble crucial stakeholders, including media representatives.
A key feature of the meeting will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by candidates and party leaders, binding all parties to a peaceful, organized, and transparent process for the 2026 NPP presidential primary.
The effort is focused on encouraging unity, tolerance, and internal solidarity within the party as it readies to select its candidate. Party representatives state that the peace agreement highlights the NPP’s commitment to maintaining democratic principles and refraining from actions that might compromise the integrity of the internal electoral system.
The Presidential Elections Committee has characterized the event as an essential move for maintaining peace before, during, and after the January 31 primary and has urged all stakeholders to back the process for the benefit of both the party and the country.
