NPP Primaries: NPP revises timetable for presidential and parliamentary elections

The primary schedule for the forthcoming presidential election and the Orphan Constituencies primary has been revised, according to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

This information was provided in a statement released by the party on Monday, June 12, 2023, and signed by Justin Kodua Frimpong, general secretary.

The party’s updated schedule states that “prospective presidential aspirant(s) will be vetted from Monday, July 3, through Thursday, July 6, 2023.

On Monday, July 10, 2023, the Vetting Committee’s Report will be transmitted via the GS to the National Council.

Tuesday, July 11, 2023: Steering Committee Meeting (Publication of Vetting Report).

The National Presidential Appeals Committee (NPAC) will accept petitions from July 12 through July 14, 2023, if any.

Monday, July 17–18, 2023, National Presidential Appeals Committee (NPAC) meeting.

Thursday, July 20, 2023: National Council and NEC Meeting; Friday, July 21, 2023: Publication of List of Qualified Presidential Aspirants.
