The New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Regional Executive Committee have partnered to create reconciliation committees in several regions in an effort to address post-election issues.
The party stated the main goal of these committees in a press release issued on February 1, 2024: to promote unity within the party among all constituencies, thus supporting the party’s success.
These committees, which are made up of respected individuals from the party and the community, have been given the duty of handling any violent incidents that result from party events, such as elections.
The NPP emphasized the value of the committee members’ commitment and work in maintaining good relations within the party, particularly in view of the 2024 elections that will soon take place.
