Boakye Kyerematen Agyarko, a prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has voiced deep concerns about the party’s ongoing “Thank You” Tour and called for immediate action to return the initiative to its original purpose.

Agyarko stated in a statement on April 28 that the tour, which was intended to restore the NPP’s image, reconnect with grassroots supporters, and renew hope, has regrettably taken a troubling turn.

Rather than promoting unity, he noted that the tour is becoming more and more characterized by internal strife, blame-shifting, and discord, which he believes threatens to harm the party’s unity and reputation.

“What was intended to restore our party’s shine and reconnect us with the grassroots is instead unraveling into bouts of discord, blame-shifting, and internal strife. This regrettable turn of events threatens to inflict serious collateral damage on the very fabric of our party,” Agyarko said in his statement.

The confidence and goodwill that the NPP has worked so hard to establish among Ghanaians could be undermined by the widening internal conflicts, Agyarko emphasized. Consequently, he urged the party’s leadership to take immediate and firm action to stop the Thank You Tour’s path.

In his remarks, Agyarko called on the NPP leadership to reconsider the tour’s trajectory and steer clear of what he called an impending “collision course.”

He promoted a new strategy that would put an emphasis on sincere reconciliation, unity, and meaningful interaction.

This strategy, in Agyarko’s opinion, is necessary to maintain the party’s honor and unity.

“It is time to apply the brakes and reassess the direction of the Thank You Tour. We must pull back from what increasingly looks like an imminent collision course.”

“Let us seize this moment to renew our collective resolve and ensure that the mission of the Thank You Tour is accomplished in a manner worthy of our party’s proud legacy,” he stated.
