As part of an ongoing inquiry into the National Service Authority’s (NSA) ghost names controversy, former Deputy Director Gifty Oware Mensah has returned to Ghana.
According to reports, Oware Mensah, who had been in the US after the elections, arrived on Tuesday afternoon and was met at the airport by a few family members.
Following reports that National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) officers had been attempting to have her arrested in connection with the incident, she arrived.
Her homecoming comes after former NSA Deputy Director of Operations Kwaku Ohene Gyan, popularly known as Osonoba, was arrested by the NIB.
At the core of the NSA’s ghost names controversy are claims of illicit payments to fictitious National Service employees.
Investigations revealed that thousands of ghost names were added to the system, causing significant financial losses for the state.
