Dr. Dominic Ayine, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, has revealed that his office has a complete docket of investigations into the National Service Scheme (NSS) payroll scandal.
He stated during a news briefing on Friday, June 13, 2025, that the docket was the result of investigations carried out by National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) personnel under the direction of Justice Srem Sai, the deputy attorney general.
“I have received the dockets compiled by diligent and hardworking investigators at the National Intelligence Bureau, popularly known as NIB, formerly BNI. The dockets were compiled under close supervision by my office, led by my able deputy Attorney General, Dr Justice Srem Sai,” he stated.
His office is ready to prosecute the case, he emphasized. “I have my prosecutorial plan laid out. I’m keenly aware of what defense lawyers can do. I was for many years a defense lawyer myself. So, I know their tricks.
“I have plans in place to avoid frustration. I know what I am doing and together with my able deputy, (sic) This is going to be a different ball game altogether. I’m not bragging but it’s going to be a different ball game altogether,” he added.
According to Dr. Ayine, the 12 suspects in the GH¢548 million ghost names case, including senior current and former National Service Authority (NSA) employees, would be charged with crimes.
