Hon. Albert Sefa Boampong, the recently confirmed District Chief Executive for Offinso North in the Ashanti Region, has vowed to continue the work of his predecessor by collaborating closely with their MP to urbanize the constituency and enhance the quality of life for the locals.
Since the late DCE Hon. David Kwasi Asare Boakye, also known as Adwumawura, passed away in November 2022 after a brief illness and was subsequently buried, the Offinso North District Assembly has been without a DCE for the last six months.
The district’s capital, Akumadan, hosted a ceremony for his confirmation, which was attended by several dignitaries, including Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister, and Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim, the MP for Offinso North who also serves as the deputy minister for local government, decentralization, and rural development. Hon. Albert Sefa Boampong, who was the constituency NPP chairman prior to his appointment, received 29 yes votes out of the 34 votes cast and 2 votes were rejected representing 85.3%.
Hon. Albert Sefa Boampong revealed that Offinso North District had benefited greatly from the NPP Government’s infrastructure projects in an interview with Nana Kwadwo Adu of Asta Fm following his confirmation. He also stated that his vision is to build on these accomplishments by promoting local economic development.
As he pledges to run an open-door government, Hon. Albert Sefa Boampong begged Assembly Members, Staff, Nananom, and all other Stakeholders for their cooperation in helping him succeed in his position.
