Numerous residents of the nearby communities in the Oforikrom Municipality, including Boadi, Emena, Apemso, Appiadu, Kokoben, Kotei, Deduako, and others, have flocked to the streets in protest of the inadequate road system in the enclave.
The area’s irate citizens bemoan the fact that getting around is difficult due to the awful condition of the local roads.
Because of the poor quality of the roads in the Oforikrom Municipality, daily users report that their vehicles have been breaking down frequently.
Converging in front of the MP’s house, the demonstrators expressed their dissatisfaction with the authorities for not keeping their word and holding them accountable for repairing the roads. They also accused the MP of not doing enough to address their concerns.
Jerry James Sukah, the organizer of the protest, read a petition addressed to the Oforikrom municipal chief executive and the local member of parliament, pleading with the government to give road repair top priority.
