One of West Africa’s most wanted criminal Ibrahim Kayaba Togolese arrested in Kumasi

Ashanti regional Police Intelligence  Department(PID) on Friday 25, January 2025, captured one more most suspected Murderer, kidnapper and fraudster from Togo’ out of Seven (7) Most Wanted Criminals terrorizing West Africa nationals, Ibrahim Kayaba.

Ibrahim Kayaba 27 years of age was arrested by the Ashanti regional Police Intelligence Department (PID), earlier yesterday at Asokwa in Kumasi after the Asokwa circuit court two had adjourned his current criminal case to February 14, 2025.

According to investigation conducted by Isaac Nsiah Foster an Investigative Journalist base in Kumasi, Ibrahim Kayaba a criminal illegal immigrant from Togo, currently residing in Kumasi was taken into custody in Kumasi central police on Friday, Jan. 24, by Special Agents from PID in Ashanti regional office in Kumasi to be transferred to Accra for further investigation and prosecution.

He had been wanted out of Accra, Kumasi and Bawku all in Ghana since May, 2022, for allegedly involved in killing of the two Togo nationals Lambounne Adama Kourag deceased, and Abdullai Jaboung deceased at Adjen Kotoku in the greater Accra region of Ghana.

Back in last year June 2024, Kayaba was among criminal group namely Sinjonne Kojo, Sinjonne Abu, Nanja Aboulaye and two others whose name withheld who kidnapped and killed a Kumasi base mason in Togo after persuaded him to come for a contract to build a mansion for one of them in Togo.

Some of this criminal group members have been arrested and convicted of multiple counts of charges in some of the West African countries and were subsequently deported from these West Africa States in July 2021.

The Herald has obtained a situation report detailing the arrests of three persons suspected to be members of a fake gold and money syndicate by the Police at Adjen Kotoku in the Ga West Municipal District of the Greater Accra Region, on Easter Saturday, April 16, 2022.

They have since been handed over to the Regional Headquarters for investigations.

Three suspects namely Seidu Sambianne 28, Samuel Yormekpe 42 and Nicholas Atsidokpo Kade- 40 were arrested in an attempt to escape in an Ash Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration number GW 3409- 19 at Atorkope.

The police, during a raid, retrieved the body of a male who is believed to have fallen victim to the syndicate.

The body, yet to be identified, was covered with a trip of sand at a gated plot of land near Adjen Kotoku Onion Market, which had two single rooms built on it and roofed search in the rooms led to the retrieval of 8 large metallic boxes and 15 small metallic boxes containing fake GHC 200,100, 50 notes and 100 USA dollar notes wrapped together with white papers in bundles.

One Money printing machine and pieces of gold like metals suspected to be fake gold, were also retrieved from the rooms.

The team extended enquiries to the back of the two rooms and found a trip of heaped sand and based on suspicion a payloader machine was engaged leading to location and retrieval of the body, believed to be in his forties.

On 16/04/2022 at about 0600 hours the Adjen Kotoku District Police Command led Supol Mr. Benjamin Dokurugu picked an intelligence to the effect that a male adult believed to have fallen victim of a suspected fake money doubling syndicate has been murdered and covered with a trip of sand at a location near Adjen Kotoku onion Market.

Based on the Intel, the Kotoku Police quickly mobilised and raided the scene at a gated plot of land that has two single rooms built on it and roofed.

Prior to the raid, three suspects namely Seidu Sambianne 28, Samuel Yormekpe 42 and Nicholas Atsidokpo Kade- 40 were arrested in an attempt to escape in an Ash Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration number GW 3409- 19 at Atorkope.

The team fired and deflated two tires of the said vehicle.

The keys to the said gated compound was retrieved from suspect Seidu Sambianne.

C/ Supol Mr. Joseph Oppong Greater Accra Regional Crime Officer and C/Supol Mr, Francis Somoah of the Amasaman Divisional Police Commander arrived at the scene with supporting teams to assist in breaking into the two rooms.

A search in the rooms led to the retrieval 8 large metallic boxes and 15 small metallic boxes containing fake GHC 200,100, 50 notes and 100 USA dollars notes wrapped together with white papers in bundles.

The team extended enquiries to the back of the two rooms and found a trip of heaped sand and based on suspicion a payloader machine was engaged to relocate the heaped sand for investigations.

In the course of doing so, the body of a male adult believed to be in his forties was exhumed dead. The crime scene management team were called to the scene to assist investigations.

Upon inspection, the whole body of the deceased has peeled off.

Photographs were taken after which it was conveyed to Police hospital morgue for preservation awaiting identification and autopsy.

The three suspects have been taken to the Regional Headquarters for investigations.

The retrieved exhibits together with the Toyota Corolla vehicle are in the custody of Kotoku Police to be sent to Regional Headquarters later. Regional CID, Accra in charge case.

DELAYING IN JUSTICE DELIVERY

Later Abu Sinjonne ringleader was arrested and detained at the Accra police cells where he was captured on video that went on viral on social media video saying he Abu Sinjonne will be coming out sooner than later as his supporters expected if not dog would have impregnated his mother.

Lo and behold Abu Sinjonne was released on bail in less than a month in custody after he had been charged with several counts of criminal offenses including murder.

Meanwhile the case has been sent to the Agyaben’s court for committal, for three years the docket has been referred to the attorney general’s department for an advice to be offered for the case to be continued but the family members of deceased persons are yet to receive court date as to when the trial will begin.

According to the younger brother of Aboulaye Jaboung all efforts made to ensure justice is prevail is proven futile. ” If not Mr. Foster the journalist who has been very supportive to our course me and my poor family members would have sat aloof, without doing anything about the case because we don’t have money to even hire a hotel room to lay down our head in Ghana, but this man and his team have been very supportive ” Eric Lalle scored.

Eric further hinted they have petitioned Director General of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Attorney General and Minister of justice Togo Ambassador in last two (2) years about the delaying of the case but all offices are yet responding to their petitions.  ” We believe that with the current change of government in Ghana we verily get justice although some of the security officers have frustrating our course of seeking justice for our late brothers who have been murdered by Abu Sinjonne, Kayaba and their gangs” Eric Lalle added.
