Daniel Owusu Koranteng, a former employee of Tiger Eye PI, has been detained by the Ghana Police Service as a suspect in the death of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, an investigative journalist.
Before his untimely death in 2019, Koranteng, also known as Akwasi Amakye, is suspected of exchanging pictures of the deceased journalist with a prominent politician.
According to reports, Amakye was a close buddy of Suale and frequently paid him a visit at his Madina home.
According to authorities, he recently made a covert return to Ghana after fleeing to the UK when investigations started. At Amasaman-Adease, he was taken into custody.
His arrest comes after the FBI in the USA discovered new material, including phone records that indicate he spoke with Suale just days prior to the journalist’s murder.
On January 16, 2019, Ahmed Hussein-Suale was shot and killed close to his Madina family home. He gained notoriety for his collaboration with the BBC on an investigative piece that revealed injustice in African football.
