Otumfour commissions new Police Station at KNUST

As part of celebrations for the 56th Congregation of the institution, His Royal Highness Otumfour Osei Tutu II the Asantehene officially opened the Jericho Wall Police Station at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) yesterday, March 17, 2023.

The police station, which is meant to assist the university and the neighborhood, is also anticipated to improve overall campus security.

In an effort to increase police visibility and incident reaction times on the university campus, the Police Administration has started the KNUST Motorcycle Patrols. This project seeks to increase the visibility of motorized police on the campuses of our institutions.

The KNUST was the second institution to profit from this effort after the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, the Director-General/NPD, COP/Paul Manly Awini, DG/HRD, COP/Frederick Adu Anim, some other Senior Police Officers, and some university officials were also present at the commissioning, which took place right after the university’s 56th Congregation. The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
