Following a meeting with the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II this afternoon at Manhyia, coach Prosper Nartey Ogum has been granted the go-ahead to continue leading Asante Kotoko.
The players, technical staff, and Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the squad met in succession to discuss issues facing the club at the Tuesday, April 18, crisis meeting at the Manhyia palace.
When some supporters interrupted a training session and demanded that Coach Prosper Ogum and his technical team leave, things became more tense.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II intervened in reaction to these events by calling the emergency meeting, and in the end, he decided to let Prosper Nartey Ogum and the Interim Management Team carry on with their attempts to resolve the club’s problems.
The choices taken at this important meeting, which comes as Asante Kotoko faces performance issues, will likely have a lasting impact on the squad as they go through the Ghana Premier League.
Asante Kotoko, who presently have thirty-three (33) points in the league standings, will take on league leaders Samatex 96 on Sunday at Baba Yara Stadium.
