Vice-president and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said that since the Akufo-Addo administration’s 2018 inauguration of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) program, 34,000 of its beneficiaries have moved into permanent jobs.

Dr. Bawumia claims that this accomplishment is a component of the government’s larger initiatives to help these recent graduates enter the workforce after obtaining useful experience from a variety of NABCO modules.

In response to a query during a Sunday, August 25, Accra, media interaction, Dr. Bawumia stated that the 34,000 beneficiaries’ transfer into permanent positions is evidence of the program’s effectiveness in improving participants’ employability and reducing unemployment in Ghana.

Nonetheless, the beneficiaries had been suing the government for unpaid benefits for the previous nine months. In an attempt to get these debts paid, they had vowed to stage a number of protests.

Nonetheless, Dr. Bawumia said that attempts will be made to have beneficiaries outstanding debts settled.

“I have raised this issue, and this is information that has come to me already and I have raised this issue with the Finance Ministry, and we will follow that up for the beneficiaries”, he promised.

Initially, the program hired 100,000 newly graduated students and was intended to offer temporary work in a variety of industries, including agriculture, health, and education.
