Senior High Schools and District Assemblies in the Northern Region were congratulated by the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Hon. James Klutse-Avedzi, for having fewer violations noted in the 2021 Auditor-General’s Report.
The Northern Region, according to Hon. Klutse-Avedzi, only has four senior high schools and seven district assemblies with minor faults identified in the Auditor-General’s Reports under review, in contrast to other Regions that have numerous major anomalies.
In addition, the Chairman advised other regions to do similarly to the Northern Region and reduce problems in their respective schools or assemblies.
He made these comments in his closing remarks as the Committee brings its one- week continuous public hearing in Tamale. The Committee considered the Auditor-General’s Report on the Management and Utilisation of District Assemblies Common Fund and Other Statutory Funds for the year ended 31st December 2021 and other reports concerning the Senior High Schools.
The five Regions (5) that appeared before the Committee in Tamale were the Northern, Savannah, North East, Upper East Region and Upper West Regions.
The Committee is expected to start its Zone two public hearing in Sunyani on Monday 4th September 2023.
