Deliberations on the 2024 budget review are scheduled to begin on November 19, and Speaker of the House Alban Bagbin has asked members to become acquainted with the House’s Standing Order.

Bagbin stressed that he would strictly follow the guidelines and that he would not use force to enforce them.

Speaking to lawmakers on the House floor, Bagbin said, “Honourable members, the tone has been set clearly. I now have my task set out for me, and I am going to apply and enforce our rules vigorously. So, when you go, read the Order in the house, part 15 of the Standing Orders. I am going to apply them. I am not going to do any show down.”
In a related event, Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta revealed important initiatives on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, during the introduction of the 2024 Budget and Finance Statement.
