The death of Hon. Francis Kofi Okesu, the municipal chief executive (MCE) for Krachi East Municipal Assembly, is being looked into by the Ashanti Regional Police Command.

According to the investigations so far, Hon. Francis Kofi Okesu and his driver checked into the Harbed House Hotel in Kumasi on September 2, 2022.

But on September 4, 2022, the MCE was unable to be found, and attempts to call him on his cellphone by both his driver and the hotel management were futile.

According to current allegations based on police preliminary investigations, the deceased’s naked body was examined by medical personnel, who found spermatozoa on his thighs.

In Kumasi, Ghana’s Ashanti area, Mr. Okesu’s body was discovered in a hotel room.

According to reports, he booked into the hotel on Friday night September 2,2022 with his driver, Sylvester Attah but was afterwards reported missing, prompting suspicion.

The driver left and lodged in a different hotel while leaving the car in the custody of the MCE.

The facility personnel pushed the door open after knocking on his door repeatedly without receiving a response and discovered that he had died.

Investigations are under progress after the incident was reported to the Oforikrom District police headquarters.

The mortuary has received his body for autopsy and preservation.
